Angelcorpse special report '20 years of Exterminate'

My experience with this zine is with the first four issues. My last issue was with issue #4, still half size zine back then in 2010. I remember the zine is pro-printed with great chats with mostly death metal bands.

Now expanded to full A4 size makes it look even better. Ricardo, helped by contributor/collaborator; Mauricio, Eduardo and other crew with various contribution have come with another great issue.

The front cover is simple, just like the previous issues I had (1 to 4). Nothing fancy. But the content is something else. The printing for this issue is awesome, in black hard cover with silver ink printing.

It doesn't start with editorial, after the content page will straight to interviews. The layout is in 3 or 4 columns per page with small size fonts the way I like it. So, there are many to read in these 72 pages.

No table of content in this thick fucker though. I thought the last page is, but it turns out on that the words below the big skull is Crypts of Eternity's releases (by the way, CoE is also a label).

The interviews are quite fresh at the time of release; from 2018 to 2020 so topics involving Covid-19 is also asked to the bands/label and how this is affecting them. The interviews with Julio Viterbo and Dario Derna are very informative, covering all their projects.

There is a section entitled "The New Blood From The Uku Pacha", like bands review covering their releases with short info on Peruvians bands; Hell Trepanner, Arkhon, Antropomancia.

After this continues with music reviews (7"). The reviews are not rated and not alphabetically arranged.

There is also "Copenhagen Death Metal Assault", reviews on Death metal releases by Danish bands made in nice cut n paste layout.

This issue is made in glue bind type (not sure the professional term for this). I have bad experience last time from some other publication. Had to flip the pages carefully to prevent the pages from falling off. Print run is 500 copies. Might still be available. I bought this from local distro, Distributions of Death.

Other things to take note, the Angelcorpse special tribute supposed to commemorate 20 years of Exterminate but on the year of this zine being published it is already 22 years old.

Exanimatvm couldn't be interviewed for some reason but the drummer was brought in to provide their analysis on Exanimatvm's album, 'Dispersae Et Tormentvm' track by track.

I also like Tunjum's interview which they talked about Moche culture. That's very enlightening.

I end this review with a quote from Anastasis of NWR; "We've come to a point that 3rd rate albums of yesteryears are now considered jewels...". I dont know why I pick this out. Maybe sick of looking people selling 'old stuff' at high price and people are actually buying it. Better buy zines!
