Virus #9 (2019)

Virus #9 (2019)
60 pages, A4, English, xeroxed

Interviews
As I End, Heretic Execution, Radiation, Destruktion Records, Exothermix, Savage Deity, Destroyer Attack, Iszar, Nuclear Warfare, Sodom, Blasphamagoatachrist, Genocidal Sodomy, Deathly Scythe, Infernal Execrator, Desaster, Epidemic, Nebiras, Malevolent Creation, Archgoat, Devouror

5 years in the making from the last issue. I bought this many years ago and only realize haven't upload this issue yet.

Laser printed with some pages printed in color (the same quality as you can see from the front cover). In terms print quality, nothing to complaint about.

Layout still in same style. Some in cut n paste style, some with page border/frame artwork, some with background or just normal blank page with just electric type-writer font type. 2 or 3 columns per page. If you read my review on their previous issues Virus improved a bit on the review page (have page border, look nicer like this) and using background on some of the interview. Because the xerox quality is crystal clear, it looks just perfect.

Not all interviews done by the editor, Fauzi. Sodom by Ricardo Campos, Epidemic by Frank Stover. Also the Malevolent Creation interview with few writers involved. These interviews are very long one with small font size.

The pages are numbered and have table of content. There is also a short article on Witches Curse, a band from Sarawak and news section right after the editorial page.

Reviews not alphabetically arranged and not rated. It covers zine & music.

Mine is hand-numbered 40/200.

This is the best issue to date. Not sure any issue release after this. Fauzi also runs a label by the name of the email address below.

Discarnage #4 (2020)

Discarnage #4 (2020)
88 pages, A5, English, pro-print

'Ridden With Disease' Interviews
Engulfer, Necrorite, Graveyard Ghoul, Molder, Casket, Cryptworm, Huoripukki, Rotted, Rest, Nefarious, Mangler, Putrid Torso, Nekro Drunkz, Incinerated, Lack of Sun, Torn Apart

Issue #4 is a huge improvement since #2, which the last issue I have so this is what I can compared with (I think I have the 3rd issue somewhere in my house. Need to do another spring cleaning!).

Half-sized, pro-print in perfect bind (look like a book) format.

Still maintain the old school cut n paste format, also uses page frame/border with 'horrific' artworks and pictures. The editor; Mika Rotten is also an artist. The artworks are his. Pages are numbered and with table of content.

Only one type of font type used for the interviews & review as you can see and this match with the zine concept of promoting the metal of death. Sometimes I think it is hand-written/ or the texts are drawn. They look great.

If I could find 1 thing to complain, is the 'Rest' interview at page 44 which is the centerpage of the issue. It will look cool with the band logo in the centre if staple-type format. Minor issue. No picture for you to see. You need to get a copy to see it for yourself haha.

The issue ends with music review (not alphabetically arranged, not rated).

All in all, this is great issue to date done by Mika Rotten. Hope to see the new issue soon.

Obscure Scripture #1 (2022)

Obscure Scripture #1 (2022)
68 pages, A5, English, pro-printed

Interviews
Exsul, Battlethrone, Necrolatry Records, Wolflust, Amyr Abadawn, Ezkaton, Bafomet, Cursed Forest, Nerraka, Obscurial, Bersturg, Evil Might, VomitVulva

Gig Report
Watain "Southern Hell Siege" Australia / New Zealand Tour

This is the first ever zine I read using reading glass after doctor asked me to get my eyes checked. Fukk! I am getting old.

I did review Goatlordth 'zine. You can read it elsewhere in this blog.

After the release of issue #00, their objective, mission and vision changed. They become a full zine instead. And the name "Obscure Scripture" was chosen as new name.

The layout is great. Nothing to complain on the layout, only praises to the editor/layout master, Sahsahulburaq. 2 columns per page, with page border/frame art. Few are in 3 columns but still looks nice in A5 size. The pages are either in black background/white text or on white 'dusty' background / black text.

The pages are numbered and with table of content.

The interviews and reviews are done editor himself, beside co-editor Lord G and other writers; Anal Licker Gorn, Bob Agigi, Iddimu Akharu & Syukri Ishak.

There are lots of different page border artwork from Phantasmagoria Artwork, Jamil Grinder, JDW, Tu Han Tu, Skuldiator.

By typing these names, you know what this issue will bring to you. If you don't want to read, you can just look at the artwork and layout.

Not sure on the print run or whether still available or not. Try your luck with the email below and don't miss out this one.
