Hermyth #6 (2015)

Hermyth #6 (2015)
30 pg, A4, xerox, English/Malay

Interviews
Hanator, Velhalla, Rehearse, Bebal Mailorder / Small Man Zine, Rakaz

The sixth issue! I missed out few issues since my last update. Layout are pretty much the same like the previous issues. Cut and paste style. I wish the photocopy quality is better than this.

The is using more English than Malay now. This is their best issue so far. The interviews are getting longer (20++ questions, not the boring type of questions one).

Reviews covers all audio formats and separated with each formats: CD, CDR, Vinyl and tapes. There is also zine reviews. All reviews are not rated and not alphabetically arranged.

And not to forget, the last pages is the "Hermyth Zine Forum" (the column has it own name now): A series of questions asked to bands & zine and they provided their answer based on these same questions. Some reply in Malay. Total 4 pages on this. Quite interesting. I hope I can join this in the future hehe.

As always, the editor can be contacted via snail mail only. No email provided.

Hermyth #3 (2013)

Hermyth #3 (2013)
38 pg, A4, xerox, English/Malay

Interview
Humiliation, Blood Legion, Black Abyss, Rottuary, Putrefied Remains, Excreted Torture, Hiding Fear, Omen

Bio
N.V.T, Sacrilege

Best issue so far. The zine keep on improving. Cut n paste, small font size the way I like it and good photocopy quality.

Almost all the stuffs (music & zine) reviewed has together their front cover. Mix on English/Malay reviews but mainly in English.

They still continue with the column where same 4 questions asked by the editor to metalheads, the called it "Special Columns". Some of the questions are on ideology in a band and band without proper material being offered to play in gig.

Mine hand-numbered #62.

Hermyth #2

Hermyth #2
36 pg, A4, xerox, Malay/English

Interview
Sickness, Zarquum, Insacred, Narsamum, Mandatory, Goatlusting Chaos

Bio
Sakrilege, Tahdiyul Arwah, G.O.D.A., Purge The Arbitrator

Good to see this zine releasing their second issue. The xerox quality has improved. In this issue they have co-editors: Jamalie (Horror Distro) & Askwhat (Nusantarajim). But they didn't mention which person made which interviews except a few. You can see some interview style different with the other. The one with Mandatory by Askwhat is the best one here. There is also 1 page with 5 questions being asked to band/zine/individuals.

The reviews are 90% in Malay, covering audio & zine. They are not alphabetically arranged and not rated. The first page made by Jamalie. There is some using cut n paste style format. The zine review format is like mine which starts with format of the zine before getting to the review.

The layout is better than the first one but still plenty of typo error. The pages are numbered but no TOC. Mine hand-numbered #43. The only way to contact the editor is via snail mail. "Email, fuckbook, hellspace can fuck up" as said by the editor. There are also few distro selling this in facebook as well if interested to buy a copy.

Hermyth #1 (2010)

Hermyth #1 (2011)
48 pg, A4, xerox, Malay

Interview
Sindraz, Qharinth, Catarrh, Enthusiastic, Zill Ghayib Zine, Ajal, Grind Your Ass Zine, Symphony Jimbalang, Tammat al-Qubra

Biography
Immolate

Debut issue from Malacca. The editor said in the editorial the name of the zine inspired by Marilyn Manson. He also spoke about some history of this zine. He decided to do a cut n paste style but not a good one. I think with some research, he can do a lot better. Excellent laser zerox. Interviews are average, only simple question asked which led to simple (boring) answer by the bands (I wonder whether their music as boring as their answer?). Or probably they all are like me, can write better in English but not in Malay. Cool to know old band like Catarrh still answer paper zine like this. The layout are not the best one I've seen. Large font size, paste text on top of text (making it hard to read) and paste text on a blank paper (it's cut n paste too but on blank paper? That does not work with me). The zine is a bit organized though by having table of content and the page are numbered. Other content in the zine are news section, zine & audio reviews (reviews not rated). I didn't expect much because it is only a debut issue however they got potential. Hope they can release more issues in the future. My copy is hand-numbered #17 in green color.
