The zine keep it's 'tradition' (layout, small font size, interview style, etc) just like the previous issues (read our previous reviews. Check out our archive). It's like 'love it' or 'hate it' situation. I like this zine. The editor always got some humor in his writing which does not mix well with some metalhead (I saw bad review about this in some zine). I also like the creative way of doing the frame artwork in this issue by using only band logo and keep on repeating it around the edge of the paper. This issue supposed to be a 'Viking tribute' issue but due to lot's of 'Viking metal' bands didn't reply, so you will only have an article on Viking and some interviews. The content beside interview/reviews includes Infometal (metal news section), gig review (1 contributed by Morbid Devastator of Death Invoker), flyers, obscene comics and artworks (made by Gurathitam Art/ Raynard Stevens).

About the reviews, they are scattered everywhere in the zine but have separate section for zine review. The reviews are not rated and too long sometimes. Some interviews and bio with Malaysian and Indonesian bands are written in Malay. How about the review of previous issues? Actually, the editor starts the zine with this review, or better said, article on all his issues with the front cover (and back cover too? Or maybe some issue made with different front covers? Whatever it is, they are all good artwork!). Why is that, you might ask? Because #10 is their final issue! Sad isn't it? Well, at least for me.

And to give this final issue a 'kick in the ass' is the "Fuck Off" list; the list of bands that didn't reply the interview nicely arranged in 5 pages complete with the band's picture and logo. That is waste of effort, not just the making the interviews but also making the graphics for this list. Some of the bands are a bit 'mainstream' for me. This is probably because I read too much Terrorizer & Metal Hammer (you can check out my facebook page where I sell those used mag at cheap price).

Nothing else to add. I wish the editor have a happy life. Thanks for the contribution to the scene!

Able to release an issue every year is quite a achievement. Do you have kids now Mr. Ed? I hope family commitment will not slow the zine down. So here's the latest issue although a bit late in uploading this review. Maybe this issue already sold-out? In this issue he dropped that weird 4 columns per page layout. Apart from that is there any improvement on the layout? Nah. I got used to his style which is not bad. Quite a relieve to see Humiliation in a paper zine. A good Malaysian death metal band without myspace & facebook (at least at time of typing this). The interview with ABMS696 is the most interesting in this issue. Look very 'live' and interactive. Photocopy quality is not as good as #8. The texts on black/dark background are not easy to read. Some interviews with local bands are in Malay which is a waste of info to non-Malay readers (in this issue I think these bands are worth to check out). There's one interview the questions are in English but answered in Malay. #9 got back those sexy artworks and sex-themed cartoon but editor lamented on lack of artwork for this issue. There is a section for artwork called "Best of Hellart" where the editor chooses the best front cover according to his taste. The "3 Questions" section is new I guess. Questions like 'what would be if life without metal', 'latest stuff in your player' & 'recent metal zine, and metal is...', are asked to lots of well-known metalhead. Hah! Almost forgot the self-reviewed of issue #8 is here too. The grand issue #10 is already in the works, probably near to completion.

I feel like I just bought this issue week ago. Then I got an email from Ed informing #9 is out already. Now I realized months have passed by and this issue left neglected. There must be some reasons why I skip reading this hand-numbered #21 issue. Too many zine ordered in a month could be the main reason. What I find weird at first here is having 2 smaller pages in one A5 page with reduced font size. Editor justifies his action as cost cutting measure, to reduce the thickness of this issue. I think it will be nice if all the pages are made this way. The rest of the layouts are the one I already familiar with. The questions are entertaining, Sangwitok-style, although they are not all serious questions and music-related. As usual, quite a few bands are from Malaysia. Some interviews/bio is written in Malay. Would be better if they are made in English or maybe the band don’t want to spread their name outside of non-Malay speaking world (you, the reader are not missing anything anyway). Reviews are not rated and not grouped in specific section. They are sometimes in between the interviews. Artworks for this issue are courtesy of Karnivorism Art, Blackwitch Imperial Art & Nurhidaya. Infometal is here (8 pages) and yes, the editor's review of issue #7 is here. The thing that missing are the sexy chicks! Probably it was left out to pay respect for his late father which died before this issue is out (and be a good son for once). Issue #9 already out at this time so ask about that too when you contact them.

I like packed zine like this. The font are small (but readable) and no space wastage. There's a lot to read in the 48 pages. The zine starts with editorial which the editor wrote about politics in the state where the zine is from, Perak. Interesting! If you have issue #6, the layout is similar like previous issue and improvement on the good xerox quality (even when using background image or dark color background, still can read the text clearly). Well done on that aspect. Again, you can find artwork by Imperial Art, Fatamorgana Art, Other Dimension Design and Nurhidaya. News are plenty and they are not placed on the earlier pages of the zine like normal zine, but also in between the interview Band A and Band B. The pages are numbered but no table of content. Reviews (most have front cover as well) are not divided to specific section. All formats (CD, demo, etc) are place together and not in alphabetical order. And like the news sections, you can find reviews in between the interviews. Eh? Its sound like I copied the review of issue #6 haha. It seems, not much have change. Interview questions are not just on music but on various topic, some are quite hillaroious for me. The editor put the band bio as well, a good way beside asking the band their bio in the interview. He still dont give a f**k of what people said, still review his previous issue, and I like this style. Some negative aspect I found for this issue (probably just me that have the problem haha) is pictures are sometime too small but still OK I guess if compared on Necroscope which you hardly find any pictures at all. Some arrangement of the pictures, can be misleading if not you did not read the text entirely. For example picture of Natrah (local BM band, the name sounds like a Malay girl name??) at Virus Zine review. The zine is hand-numbered, mine #52. New issue already out by the way. Apologies for taking too much time to upload this review.

Some might not like "computer layout" for a xerox zine but the layout here are quite good. I wish the zerox quality are better than this. Some pages got page number and no table of content. Zine as thick as 100 pages must have one. The content are mostly in English but there are interviews in Malay. Reviews are plenty and they are not separated to specific section. Some pages are filled with flyers and flyers are also used to fill up space. Also displayed some artwork from Po'G, Fadzlee Lufie, Nurhidaya (sounds like a girl's name. wow, female artist? that's rare!), Kaz & shahjehanbanjabar (also responsible for the logo for this zine). I also like the background or artwork of naked chics on the same of pages hehe (text are also spaced just to show the tits. Ed, you are sick hehe). The zine starts with "Info metal", 7 pages of metal news. The font are small, lots of news to read but I prefer reading those related with underground bands since its hard to get their news in the internet. Also a page called F.A.Q where readers ask questions to the editor to answer. Some questions are quite stupid, probably sent by those with IQ of 5 years old. A column called "Diskusi Metalik" (or Metallic Discussion in English). Cool, for this issue bands are asked about how artwork influence them. The rarest thing is he review his own zine! And that you dont see a lot. This is already the 6th issue and I must say he's a seasoned editor and know how to do a zine with a good content.
