Putrefactive Effect #2 (2006)
Putrefactive Effect #2 (2006)
52 pg, A4, xerox, English/French
Interview
Nerlich, Hellspirit, Disgust, Valuatir, Necrodeath, Harkonin/Eulogy, Suffering Silence, Underneath, Withdrawn, No Hand Path, Necrotick Flesh, Mortal Decay, Flesh, Abantesma, Hysteria
Excellent xerox quality on thick paper. Pages are numbered ('Putrid 1, Putrid 2' and so on) but no TOC. No waste of space because flyers is used to fill them up and they are nicely arranged. Layout-wise, some cut n paste style but mostly done using computer with some pages used background image. On 1 interview with black text on dark background (is that Diego Maradona?) that is a bit hard to read but good thing is it is in a language I don’t understand. For some reason, Mortal Decay interview are numbered, start with 20 and ends with 1. I thought it was a typo error at first. Most of the content are in English but gig report are in French. Reviews only cover audio stuff and not rated but got detail on year, number of tracks, length and label. Quite an effort there! I bought this zine from some distro. Unfortunately no contact address written in the zine.

Interview
Suck Our Veins, Santet, Tenggorokan, Godzilla

'Cilacap Deadly Zine' is what I have now, Issue #2 November-December 2008, courtesy of Kayangan Distro. Maybe this is a bimonthly newsletter. Quite surprise this is made in pro-print (and it was sealed in plastic wrap!) although the layout is very simple. The interviews is not really a normal interviews. Bands are asked about 'support local band' and their view on this topic. In the editorial, the editor wrote lengthily about fight against "penguasa yang merosakkan negeri kita dan pengkhianat yang merosakkan scene". A bit political there. There are some articles, some flyers and advertisement. What I found interesting is there is an advertisement from a cigarette company. I wonder whether they are sponsoring this project.

Interview
The Sinners, Rajam, Scream Of Agony, Rest In Peace, Sadie, Final Conflict, Mesmeric, Santet
I managed to get a copy of "The Lunatic Funzine" from a local distro, Kayangan Distro. This is 'underlicensed' copy that is this label were given the permission to copy and sell this here. And that is the lowest point for this issue that I got. All issues that I have before are in good printing quality. Again, the editors managed to combine humour into this serious music without looking stupid. Layout and everything are like other issues that I've read. All hailz to them! As usual there are lots of band bio so I have to skip writing them down. Too many! Flyers are used to fill-up space but they are neatly placed. I wonder whether they are still producing this zine. It is a waste if they stop.
Hells Headbangers #1 (2010)
Hells Headbangers #1 (2010)
80 pg, A4, pro-print, English
Interview
Sperm of Antichrist, Atomizer, Disfigured Dead, Perversor, Victimizer, Destrucktor, Deiphago, Shackles, Bestial Mockery, Hunters Moon
Those who are the 'customer' of Hells Headbangers Records (HHR) will know that this publication is released by this label and given free (if you ordered certain amount of $) or pay for the postage. Apart from the massive page number, 14 pages are (short) interviews. The rest are HHR's catalog. No review though. Professionally layout, not boring MS Word type but at the standard of professional mainstream mag. It’s still having some underground look to it especially when some good old style artwork is being used. I’m looking forward for the next issue. As they say, "When you need metal...go to hell!!!".

Sewer #3
Sewer #3
80 pg, A4, xerox, English
Interview
Infected Malignity, Agathocles, Dead Congregation, Grand Belial`s Key, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Solace of Requiem, Waco Jesus, Ophiolatry, Philosopher, Obscene Productions, Reinfection, Gorefest, Cannibal Corpse, Metal-Archives.com, Suffocation
"The Death Metal Zine from Hell-as" says the editor. I'm not sure the year of the release but the artwork written '07. Yes, Hellas is Greece!
Quite thick zine we have here but the thickness is due to the large font used. You can finish reading 80 pages zine in no time. No page number and no table of content and the layout is either 2 or 3 column per page.
Text font type will look better if it can differentiate between the questions & the answers. And about the questions, they are of the 'general and easy' type of questions and some questions are being repeated in some interviews. Some interviews are made by editor of Anubis Zine of Turkey and some other contributors but they all have the same interview style.
The xerox quality is OK. Some page use black background but the text is still readable. Some flyers are pasted here and there in the zine. Some are really old flyers which is great to look at (like flyer for Immolation demo #1, 1988).
About the reviews, they are not arrange alphabetically and not rated, and have all the contact details (mail, email and website). The reviews are separated to different format and creatively named; Embrace of Death (CD reviews), Bleed For The Devil (tape review), A Different Type of Mindfuck (Vinyl review) & Evil Spells (Zine). The reviews are more interesting to read and have better layout.
"I have been to Malaysia and in this country live together Muslim, Budhist, Christians all together in peace and it was really interesting for me..." by Obscene Productions that are the quote that can be used by Tourism Malaysia (the government agency promoting tourism). I would like to add a bit though, that was years ago. Strangely, we now have church and mosque being burnt by some close-minded asshole.

Eternity #19 (2001)
Eternity #19 (2001)
76 pg, A5, pro-print, German
Interview
Ancient Rites, Sceptic, CSSO, Melechesh, Legacy, Katatonia, Alastis, Logar's Diary, Obligatorisk Tortyr, Forgotten Silence, Comma, Mangled, Circle of Grief, Anata, Trauma, The Awakening, No Return, Rebellion, Deranged, Enter My Silence, Mirror of Deception
This is the last issue that I have in my collection. Not sure whether I will get their newer issues (probably I will when I understand German). I think having 4 issues as introduction of this good magazine is enough for me.
I noticed there's a section called "Crossfire" (featured in last issue too). Not sure how that's work but I saw some reviews there.
Check out the web. They put a lot of stuff there.
Eternity #18 (2001)
Eternity #18 (2001)
76 pg, A5, pro-print, German
Interview
Belphegor, Blackend, Failed Humanity, Grim Force, The Prior's Diary, Defender, Neglected Fields, Harmony Dies, Legion, Festering Flesh, Pain of Salvation, Night In Gales, Kalmah, Dark Moor, Lykathea Aflame, Profanity, Hatred, Crawlspace, Houwitser, Abigor
Damn! When I checked their website, there’s no info available about this issue (and also the next one that I have). It will be easier if I can copy and paste. Above are interviews and the rest (layout, etc) I don’t see any major changes except for "Soundcheck" by 6 writers (with picture of them too). You know how that works, right? I don't think I need to explain further.
Profanity interview is the longest so far I've seen in Eternity. Plus they also put their mail-order list (CD) in the magazine.
