Deadly Illness #5 (2018)

Deadly Illness #5 (2018)
52 pages, A5, English, xeroxed

Interviews
Opium Lord, Streaks Records, Ohyda, Cadaveric Incubator, Intolerable Noisechestra, Dark Hall, Violent Hammer, Necrolepsy, Church of Misery, Ice Dragon, Godchilla

This Hungarian zine looks neat although the xerox/print quality can be better. Either 2 columns or no column at all in normal MS Word type layout. Nothing fancy. The pages are not numbered and no table of content. The editorial note is at the last page of this (the back cover). That kinda unusual thing to do.

The interviews are quite long. Questions around 20+. No reviews or article. Only interviews.

As said in the editorial (also read it in some distro) that this issue also comes with Ice Dragon 7"EP (released by the editor's own label) but I don't have this. I bought the zine only from Nihilistic Distro at cheap price (of course since no 7" EP to be shipped together). Try getting this combo version if you can.

No contact address available in the zine.

To Purchase (might be available)

Horrible Eyes #4 (2020)

Horrible Eyes #4 (2020, Denmark)

Interviews
Vomitor, Murkrat, Sadistic Intent, Drowned, Morbid Insulter, Kaamos, Mortuary Temple, Eidomantum, Funebrarum, Red Abyss, Kathaaria, Circle Of Ouroborus, Vulcano, Albert Witchfinder, The Wounded Kings, Demonic Rage, Necrosanct, Portal, Nazxul, Fleshpress, Mayhem, Repugnant, Mortem, The Ruins of Beverast, Grave Miasma, Embalmed Souls, Hatespawn, Rigor Mortis, Nirvana 2000, Nuclear Death/Lori Bravo Raped, Ascension, Saturnalia Temple, Kill, Crucifire, Stench Of Decay, Mercyful Fate, Excoriate, Necros Christos, Bunkur, Unearthly Trance, Xibalba, Aghori, Dead Congregation, Adorior, Vektor

Been wanting to read this zine. Was lucky enough it landed it mailbox before it is shipped to the next destination. This is "The Fourth Morbid Knocking" with materials/interviews compiled from 2003 to 2011.

The editor Rnld and fellow writers/contributors Re Vore, Theby, Timo and few others gathered very interesting material to read. Look at the band's featured. The interviews questions on average 15 or more questions. Mayhem interview originally appeared in Pestisterous Tales #1 (1990) was answered by Dead. The followed by Mayhem gig review in 2008 onwards.

Table of content is available, not in the usual way but it's there. Layout-wise 3 to 5 columns per page. I can't remember when the last time was seeing 5 columns per page being used. It's very rare, very compact looking. The editor also uses page border and very small fonts. Some are in cut n paste style. The centerfold is the most awesome as you can see.

The reviews are scattered and not rated some with front cover or logo of the band. Reviews are not that many actually. Cover music, zine and ended with books reviews.

Gig reviews are plenty. Example is Nuclear War Now! Festival (Berlin 2010). Also presented are some articles/gig reviews on bands (witchcraft, Cultes Des Ghoules, Kandor, Sanctum, Armoros, Pentagram, Master's Hammer, Count Raven, Cruciamentum). There are many more I may have not included here. And some short interviews with metalheads.

To answer one of the questions; Yes. My hand is dirty after complete reading this issue. The offset printing ink do cause this sometimes, it smells nice so overall a pleasant experience.

Mold Report #1 (December 2020)

Mold Report #1 (December 2020)
56 pages, A5, English, pro-printed

Interviews
Obliteration, Cryptic Brood/Lycanthropic Chants, Kaltbruching Acideath, Minenfeld, Vanhelgd, Filthdigger

Another debut issue landed in our mailbox. The editor mentioned in the editorial the idea came long time ago and some of the interviews were made in 2011. Not much detail given why taking too long to release this issue. The editor, Jhoul, found the interviews in his archived.

Since it is still good to read, the editor then publishes them in Mold Report added with updated with follow-up interview with the bands to see what's going on the bands after 2011. Nice idea and also logical thing to do it. Some even won Best Metal album in their country's Grammy Award. Others are new interview for this issue. 1 German sounding band here is actually from Japan.

Layout in cut n paste style mostly. Pages are numbered but no table of content. Printed on light grey paper. Some are only on blank page (on 1 column per page or 2 pages per column). The text is placed at near edge the paper. Some texts on top have been cut but you can guest what's that sentenced talked about. Font type old typewriter is used however the size is quite big. Probably the biggest I seen in recent years. But the content is what matter. The back cover is also simple design with just blank page with winged eye at the bottom.

No reviews though.

The price is only €3 exclude postage. To purchase go to the bandcamp site. New issue already out at the time this review is up online.
