I found the info about this zine in NWN Forum and straight away ordered a copy. Yes. This was many many years ago. Wrote the review but don't remember where I put the zine (or sell/trade it with who) and didn't take pictures of it first. The review remain as draft since then.
Anyway, I don't to waste the effort, so now made it available.
'Computerized' layout with some on cut & paste style. Maybe the cut & paste are done by computer or maybe not but they are neatly done without wasting space. I like a lot the layout style.
No table of content and page number though. I thought the Abigail interview is 'short and sweet' type (read: 'short and boring').Been reading a lot of this type in other zine answers by him. But this time quite long answer by Yasuyuki. Well-done Yasuyuki!
The reviews are alphabetically arranged and not rated. The review section is called "Records" but you can find other formats too in this section.
There are some articles or columns which probably going to be a regular column (Mental Hop Scotch, New York's Alright, Paul Praise Presents: Sewer Scum Death Metal Extras). There is a page for "Top 10 Fave" of the editor & the bands being interviewed compiled here instead of reading that in the interview. Not really an interesting read though but it is presented in an original style (I don’t remember seeing anyone doing it that way before reading this zine).
Doug did a good job for this debut. I suspected Doug must have some experience before, which is true. He did some zine in the 90’s. This is punk/hardcore-influenced, thus explaining the price ($5… really cheap!). By the way this is not a metal only zine. Support this zine at your own risk.
